#marchfitstreak day 7, race day 10k & marathon training day 3

Day 7 of the March Fitness Streak challenge is complete.  And boy am I feeling it.  Today was an 11 mile marathon training day.  I ran a 10k race this morning, but there was a mistake on the route at the turn around and it ended up being 7.1 miles instead.  My ankle held out pretty good.  It started to flare up around mile 2.  I wasn’t sure if i should stop and walk and rest it, or push through it.  I decided to push through.  The pain eventually subsided.  I ran the entire 7.1 miles without a walk break.  I think that this was the first time that I ran more than a mile, consistently, since December.  Afterwards I ran an additional 4 miles, with a friend, to get my 11 completed.  I’m feeling pretty sore.

Hubby and I went out for eggs and pancakes and a large glass of chocolate milk.  Then we came home for a nap!  Tonight we set the clocks an hour ahead, so we lose an hour of sleep.  Hopefully the nap offset that lost hour of sleep.  But I doubt it.  I’m sitting here now, at 8pm and am struggling to stay awake.

Tomorrow is a marathon training rest day, but not a rest day from the March Fitness Challenge!  Will either walk a mile on the treadmill or attempt some aerobics.  We’ll see how I feel in the afternoon.
